Majani Nutrition Care

According to the National Library of Medicine, a healthy diet is “health-promoting and disease-preventing. It provides adequacy, without excess, of nutrients and health-promoting substances from nutritious foods and avoids the consumption of health-harming substances.”

Now, what does diet mean at its core?

It originates from the Greek word « diaita » which can translate among other things in way of life, mode of life. This concept has more depth and hints at more than merely the act of eating, but encompasses an individual’s leisures, social interactions, environments  physical capabilities, values, etc.

The word diet  has gained in popularity over the past decades. It is usually associated with calories control, weight loss goals, or linked to one or another trending fad diet that typically grabs people’s attention for a while, until the next fad diet emerges, and so on. The undisputable goal is the pursuit of health, wellness and longevity for self, our loved ones and communities.
